A 2009 University of Arizona study stated dust is “a mixture of organic matter such as...shed skin cells, fibers, soil tracked-in on footwear, and particulate matter derived from…outdoor air.”
(Insert Palm Plant to Forehead)..shed skin cells…Did someone think dust was made from skin cells still attached to human beings or animals?
(Insert Palm Plant to Forehead). Turns our My Brother Ed was partially right…as his kid sister I was on the receiving end of a lot of his wisdom. Such as dust was made from dead people…and when I argued he cited a portion of Genesis “…for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
As a full-time resident in a 5th wheel, we spend lots of time battling dust and purchased a cordless Dyson Pet Vacuum cleaner to pick-up dog hairs, (Jack Russell) allergens and fine dust. The vacuum will run 7 minutes when using the Max Power Mode and the carpet/floor beater brush which is plenty of time to go over all the floor surfaces. In seven minutes I can fill the .14 gallon bin twice.
We also dampen a microfiber cloth and go over hard surfaces weekly. We wash windows and clean filters on furnace, air conditioner, de-humidifier every other month.
And still the best we can do is win a few battles. The dust bunnies are winning the war.
There is a lot of advice on the best way to clean a camper, some suggest air purifiers, a particular cleaning solvent, etc.,
My advice: It’s only dirt, there will be more and the dust might be someone you know.
